PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Figure 1 illustrates the equipment included with the 3M™ Rollgliss™ R550 Oil & Gas Rescue System. The R550 Rescue System
is a rescue kit that includes all of the necessary equipment to successfully perform a rescue on a work site. The R550 Rescue
System is intended to lower one or two people simultaneously from an elevated height to a lower level in a rescue situation.
Figures 2 through 8 illustrate components of the R550 Oil & Gas Rescue System. See Table 1 for Component Specifications for
each piece of equipment. The R550 Oil & Gas Rescue System is comprised of:

An R550 Rescue & Escape Device (Figure 2) for performing the rescue;
•
Four rescue slings (Figure 3) for extension of the lifeline;
• A tool tether (Figure 4) for securing handheld tools;
• A rescue cable grab (Figure 5) and rescue web grab (Figure 6) for securing to a cable or web lifeline;
• An edge proctector (Figure 7) for running the lifeline over a sharp corner;
• And a micro-pulley (Figure 8) for redirecting the lifeline.

The structure to which the R550 Oil & Gas Rescue System is mounted must be capable of sustaining
force in the anticipated direction(s) of loading. Each Anchorage Point location must be capable of
sustaining the following values:

When more than one R550 Rescue Device is attached to an anchorage the strengths stated above
must be multiplied by the number of descent devices attached to the anchorage.
