POWERSCAN D8590 User’s Manual

RS-232 Interface

RS-232 Interface

Note:

Unlike USB, the RS-232 interface does not draw its power from the host computer.

RS-232 Configuration

Installation Steps for RS-232

1. Power-off the host.
2. Connect the 8-pin mini-DIN on the

cable to the POWERSCAN D8590.

3. Connect the 9-pin D-sub connector to

the host computer’s serial port.

4. Connect the cable to the power supply.
5. Plug in the power supply and power-on

the host.

6. Start up a terminal program (such as

ESP

’s

Terminal

view or HyperTerminal)

and set to

57.6K

baud,

data bits,

none

parity, and

stop bits.

7. Read the
