Extra connections
In the control there are two built-in options for manual switch-off of the unit, HEAT OFF and STOP, as
indicated on the terminal strip.
HEAT OFF
The HEAT OFF inlet is placed in terminal 52/53 and is intended for a manual external switch for
permanent switch-off of the heat, i.e. the electric heating element.
STOP
The STOP inlet is placed in terminal 54/55 and is intended for a manual switch or week programme
panel, switching off the unit at certain chosen intervals.
HEAT / COOL Function
There are two built-in control functions to ensure a chosen minimum or maximum temperature. The two
control options are called HEAT and COOL, respectively, which also appears from the terminal strip.
Both of these thermostat functions are connected to external room thermostats on which the room
temperature is set.
HEAT
The HEAT function ensures a minimum temperature of a room. The HEAT thermostat is connected to a
room sensor, which may be set at 8°C. If the room temperature drops to below 8°C, full heat will be
switched on until the temperature is higher than 8°C.
This function also serves as frost protection of a room, as the HEAT function may be activated when the
unit is off.
COOL
The COOL function is used to reduce the room temperature to a certain requested level. The room
thermostat may be set at 24°C. If the room temperature rises to above 24°C, the heating element is
switched off and the fan speed automatically increased to HIGH in order to obtain the highest possible
cooling. The unit stops when the requested temperature has been reached. If the COOL function is used
on an operating unit, the fan speed is reduced to normal, and the electric heating element is switched on.
