14.3.2.4 Gamma
Only gamma settings and gamma curve gradients of user-definable camera presets can
be adjusted.
The gamma setting allows you to adjust the relative distribution of brightness in the mid-
tones (the distribution of light between black and white) and thus the image contrast.
However, note that the effect of the gamma setting always depends on the individual
display device.
Setting options DDZ4010-YY/HS/HD
NORMAL
:
Typical video-look.
Reproduces images with standard video gamma curve.
CINEMA1
:
Approximation to typical film-look (characteristics of chemical film).
Reproduces images more lively and with more depth.
CINEMA2
:
In addition to the features of
CINEMA1
, this setting is especially suitable for scenes with a
high dynamic range, which provides a reproduction of a deeper black.
Setting options DDZ4020-YY/HS/HD
NORMAL
:
Typical video-look.
Reproduces images with standard video gamma curve.
Gamma 1
:
Linear gamma curve (gamma value is 1) > no gamma correction
S-Curve Low
:
Flat gamma curve > smoother distribution of brightness values, lower contrast
S-Curve Mid
:
Gamma curve with moderate gradient > medium contrast
S-Curve High
:
Steeply rising gamma curve > stronger image characteristics, high contrast
