6.6.3. Pre-charging refrigerant

1. Calculate the additional amount of refrigerant to be added using the formula mentioned in

“6.6 To determine the

additional refrigerant amount

”.

2. The outdoor units will be shipped with an initial amount of charge (pre-charge) which differs for each unit. Once

installed, the technician shall add the extra quantity based on the formula above mentioned.

3. Once the additional refrigerant quantity has been added, it is possible to set the ball valves on the outdoor unit

in

OPEN

position.

If the system does not contain any refrigerant (e.g., after refrigerant reclaim operation), the unit must be
charged with its original amount of refrigerant (refer to the nameplate on the unit).
