Malfunction
Possible cause

Internal circulation
pump generates ex-
cessively high operat-
ing noises
Air in the water circuit.
▪ Completely vent the heating system and the internal circula-
tion pump.
Noises caused by vibrations.
▪ Check the Daikin Altherma EHS(X/H), its components and
covers to ensure they are fastened correctly.
Bearing damage in the internal circulation pump
▪ Replace the internal circulation pump.
Water pressure at pump inlet too low.
▪ On the controller [→ Main menu → Info → Overview], check
that sufficient water pressure (> 0.5 bar) is available.
▪ Check that the pressure gauge is working correctly (connec-
tion of an external pressure gauge).
▪ Check the admission pressure in the expansion tank and wa-
ter pressure; if necessary, top up the heating water and adjust
the admission pressure.
Safety pressure relief
valve is leaking or al-
ways open.
Expansion tank is defective.
▪ Replace the expansion tank.
Water pressure in heating system is too high.
▪ On the controller [→ Main menu → Info → Overview], check
that the water pressure is below the specified maximum pres-
sure. If necessary, drain sufficient water until the pressure is
in the middle of the permissible range.
Safety pressure relief valve is stuck.
▪ Check the safety pressure relief valve and if necessary, re-
place it.
▪ Turn the red knob on the safety pressure relief valve anti-
clockwise. If you can hear a rattling noise, the safety pres-
sure relief valve needs replacing.
