Electromechanical controller
Read this manual attentively before starting up
the unit. Do not throw it away. Keep it in your
files for future reference.
Improper installation or attachment of
equipment or accessories could result in electric
shock, short-circuit, leaks, fire or other damage
to the equipment. Be sure only to use
accessories made by Daikin which are
specifically designed for the use with the
equipment and have them installed by a
professional.
If unsure of installation procedures or use,
always contact your Daikin dealer for advice
and information.

This electromechanical controller for installation on-board
the unit is used for:
n
manually changing the operation speed of the unit;
n
automatically setting the room temperature by
operating the motor-ventilator of the unit, both during
the cooling and heating phases.

This controller may be installed in FWV + FWL units.
Refer to figure 4 to catch the look of the controller.
1 4-position rotary speed selector switch (three
stop)
2 Cooling/heating operation selector
3 Thermostat fit with a fluid-expansion probe
(setting range 6~30°C)
The controller is supplied complete with twin wires for
wiring the unit to the terminal strip and with an adhesive
probe-holder.

NSTallaTION

All field wiring and components must be
installed by a licensed electrician and must
comply with relevant local and national
regulations.
n
Before obtaining access to terminals, all
power supply circuits must be interrupted.
n
Use safety work gloves.
n
For the FWV version, remove the air filter by turning
the screws by 1/4 turn.
n
Remove the cabinet that covers the unit by
unscrewing the fixing screws. (See figure 1)
n
Install the controller on the side opposite the hydraulic
attachments (electrical terminal strip side). (See
figure 2)
The controller has been designed for being snap-
mounted to the side panels of the basic unit by
inserting the button pins into the slots and dragging
the control to limit stop.

Apply the adhesive probe-holder to the fan’s housing
in a position that permits the probe to perform an
accurate reading of the room temperature. (See
figure 3)
n
Make the electrical connections as shown in figures
5+6.
1 ECFWMB6 with room temperature ON/OFF
setting on the air side.
2 ECFWMB6 with E2MV 3-way motorized valve;
the room temperature is set by ON/OFF on the
air side and on the water side.
NOTE
When connecting the wires to the speed
selector switch, strictly follow the black
numbering printed on the body of the
selector switch.
Each unit requires a switch (IL) on the power supply line
with a distance of at least 3 mm between the opening
contacts, and a suitable safety fuse (F).
