Connecting the water piping
4.4.1
To connect the recirculation piping
Prerequisite:
Only required if you need recirculation in your system.

Loosen and remove the 4 screws that fix the top panel.

Remove the top panel from the unit.

In case of a unit with a tank capacity of 180 l, remove the
expansion vessel.

Remove the top insulation.

Cut out part (c) from the top insulation.

Connect the recirculation piping to the recirculation connection
(b) and route the piping through the hole at the backside of the
unit (a).

Reattach the top insulation and the expansion vessel.
4.4.2
To connect the water piping
NOTICE
Do NOT use excessive force when connecting the piping.
Deformation of the piping can cause malfunctioning of the
unit.
INFORMATION
The water piping needs to comply with section G3 of the
Building Regulations. To facilitate compliance, domestic
hot water tank kits EKVSU180A and EKVSU260A are
available. The instructions below include the installation of
these tank kits. If they are NOT used, at all times make
sure that the water piping complies with the applicable
legislation.
INFORMATION
If you have to inspect the inside of the domestic hot water
tank, you can access it via the booster heater boss.
The connection of the water piping involves:

Directly to the indoor unit
: connecting the water piping to the
space heating inlet, the space heating outlet, and the domestic hot
water outlet.
▪
Via the domestic hot water tank kit
: connecting the water piping
to the unit’s domestic cold water inlet, and connecting the kit itself
to the drain.

INFORMATION
EKVSU260A only: to facilitate maintenance and service,
the space heating and domestic hot water outlets (
a
and

), as well as the space heating inlet (
b
), can be extended
by way of the extension pieces that are delivered with the
domestic hot water tank kit. Make sure to use the sealings
for the extension pieces (delivered as accessory).

To facilitate service and maintenance, 2 shut-off valves are provided.
Mount these valves on the space heating water inlet and space
heating water outlet. Mind their position. The orientation of the
integrated drain and fill valves is important for servicing.

Install the shut-off valves on the space heating water pipes.

NOTICE
It is recommended to install shut-off valves to domestic
cold water in and domestic hot water out connections.
These shut-off valves are field supplied.

Screw the indoor unit nuts on the shut-off valves.

Connect the domestic hot water out pipe to the indoor unit.
