Fast Ethernet Switching System User’s Guide

Managing the DES-5600

37

System Name

Specifies the full name of the DES-5600. This value can be changed, enabling
you to assign a unique name. The field holds 44 characters.

System Location

Specifies the physical location of the DES-5600. A building number or street
address can be entered in this field. You can enter up to 44 characters.

System Contact

The network or other administrator’s name to contact if there are problems.

System Object ID

Is the object identifier used to manage the DES-5600 over RMON and SNMP.
The MIB requires you to enter the number. The System Object ID is hardwired
and cannot be changed.

System Up Time

Is the amount of time the DES-5600 has gone without being rebooted.

Follow these steps to select an option:

Use the tab or arrow keys to select an option.

Enter the new value in the field.

3.

 

Select Save and exit. Some changes require reboot.
