Zeroization
Caution! The Zeroization function can delete all IOS and configuration files on the system!
Zeroization should only be enabled if it is intended to be used.
Enabling Zeroization for the Cisco 5915 (ROU)
Prior to applying the zeroization signal, the Cisco IOS must be configured to enable zeroization.
From an IOS prompt, enter the following commands:
Router> enable
Router# conf t
Router(config)# service declassify erase-all
Router(config)# exit
The “
erase-all
” argument will erase all files on the router (flash and NVRAM) when
declassification (zeroization) is invoked
“
erase-flash
” or “
erase-nvram
” may be substituted for “erase-all” if only the files in flash memory
or NVRAM, respectively, are to be deleted.
Enabling Zeroization for the Parvus SWI-22-10 (SWI)
Enable zeroization feature using zeroize command.
If the logon prompt appears, then logon with the user name
admin
and no password.
