Explanation of Daisy Chain
Network
A daisy chain network consists of a group of
display units connected together in series by
RS-485 cables.
A network collector can be connected at any point
in the daisy chain, such as in illustrations
and
chains such as in illustrations
and
The first display unit of a daisy chain should be
considered the beginning of the network. It has
only one (1) RS-485 cable going out. The network
collector should be considered the end of the
daisy chain. It has one (1) RS-485 cable coming in
from one (1) daisy chain, although it could have
two (2) RS-485 cables coming in if it is in the
middle of the daisy chain.
All display units between the beginning and end of
a daisy chain have two (2) RS-485 cables, one (1)
cable coming into the box and the other going out
to the next display unit in the chain.
