4. Anschluss und Inbetriebnahme
The satellite finder is intended for fine adjustment and optimization of the re
-
ceived signal. You first have to determine the satellite and its position and roughly
align the satellite dish accordingly. You can use a compass or a comfortable
satellite finder app for smartphones.
At first, disconnect the receiver or multiswitch from the power supply. Then
connect the satellite finder with the connection cable coming from the receiver
or multiswitch. The appropriate connection is marked „Receiver“ on the back.
Afterwards connect the supplied connection cable to the opposite connection on
the satellite finder and link it to a connection on your LNB. Make sure that the
sensitivity knob is set to a minimum sensitivity. Then restore the power supply
to the receiver or multiswitch and switch on the receiver so that the LNB and the
satellite finder can be supplied with power. Roughly align the satellite dish and
then adjust the sensitivity so that the display remains at approximately 50%. After
that, make the fine adjustment. Move the LNB until the display shows a higher
value. Then decrease the sensitivity of the knob until the display returns to about
50% to more accurately align the LNB. Repeat these steps several times until
you have reached the optimal position. Next, attach the satellite dish so that the
position cannot be changed. The alignment has now been completed.
Note: If the display shows the maximum value (100%), this means that the
received signal is too large for the satellite finder. In this case, decrease the sensi
-
tivity of the knob. If you are using a very large satellite dish or a high performance
LNB, you may need an attenuator or damping control connected between the LNB
and the satellite finder.
