Alarm settings for GEM detectors are voltage settings. The range of 0 - 4.0 VDC is equal to the
full measurement range of the sensor. E.g. HVAC CO sensor has a standard measurement range
of 0-200 ppm. Therefore, 4.0 VDC = 200 ppm. Reference the formula below and the table in
Section
7.5 Jumpers .
DESIRED SET POINT / SENSOR RANGE = % OF RANGE
e.g. 100 ppm / 200 ppm = 50% of range
50% OF 4.0 VDC = 2.0 VDC.
Therefore the required voltage setting to achieve an alarm set point of 100 ppm is 2.0 VDC.
