INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE!
Read and understand the entire instructions for use before using the
equipment!
Support system: EN 358
The support line is used in combination with a support belt, sitting harness or
similar for work positioning and to prevent a fall, EN 358, EN 813. The support line
shall always be anchored above the user’s waist and in an extended position. The
equipment may not be exposed to fall force !
The line is made from polyamide fibre model core-mantelled 32-plaited 12 mm and
has a breaking strength of at least 22 kN.
The line is fitted with an aluminium control lock , which allows the user quick and safe
adjustment of his/her equipment using only one hand. The support line is attached
to the support belt/sitting harness and thereafter to an approved anchorage point
in accordance with EM-795, or an equivalent if it can cope with a load of 12 kN,
alternatively in one of the belt’s D-rings and around the fastening and back to the
other D-ring (ensure that the hook and control lock are correctly anchored in your
D-rings before you take support/load the line). Or you attach from the EN-813 eyelet
and one turn around the structure and back to the eyelet or around another part as a
choke hitch or tie-back.
Anchorage sling:
EN 795b
The line is also certified in accordance with EN 795b for use as an anchorage sling if
necessary. The anchorage line may be used by one person as an anchorage point in
a fall protection system and the fall protection system ought to comprise one EN 355
as part of the system. The anchorage line has no deflection greater than 3%.
Lanyard:
The line is also certified as a lanyard EN 354 for use in several
applications.
Warning!
Work in a fall protection environment requires that the user is fully healt-
hy (ref EN-365), has completed training in the use of the equipment and is aware of
the risks that can arise. Prior to starting to work in fall risk environments plans shall
be made for how to evacuate a person who has fallen or been injured and/or possibly
been left hanging in the harness. If the user were to fall unconscious in a suspended
position it is vital to get him/her down to the ground as fast as possible.
Warning!
The harness may not be modified or re-engineered with accessories
other than those supplied by the manufacturer. Repairs or replacement of parts may
only be carried out by the manufacturer.
Warning!
The harness is only for Personal Protection Equipment use. All other
usage is forbidden. The line may
NOT
be used as lifting equipment. If possible each
user shall have their own Personal Protection Equipment (ref EN-365).
Warning!
For connection to a system in accordance with EN-363:2008 the user
shall be fully conversant with all the functions of the component parts and their use.
And understand the forces than can occur in the anchorage point’s design max 6 kN
with double safety = 12 kN. In case of doubt contact your dealer or the manufacturer.
Prior to each use: Carry out a careful visual check of the material and function and
ensure that the equipment works. Be careful in relation to tape breaches, broken
seams/stitching, cut damage, discolouration, damaged hooks and snaplocks.
Warning!
If any fault in the equipment is detected which may impact on the safety
of its use, the product must be replaced immediately. In case of doubt contact your
dealer or the manufacturer.for inspection.
Warning!
If the equipment has been subjected to a fall the product shall immedia-
tely be discarded and replaced.
Warning!
For connection to a support system the anchorage point shall be of an
approved type in accordance with EN-795 or the equivalent, and cope with a static
loading of 12 kN. The support line shall always be anchored above the user’s waist
and in an extended position. The support line is adjusted so that a fall of 0.5 metres
or more cannot occur. This shall be checked regularly during use.
NOTE!
The equipment’s material or its function can be affected if it is exposed
to: extremely high temperature, chemicals, electrical current, grinding, cropping,
abrasion against sharp edges and exposure to weather.
NOTE!
The equipment shall be stored in a dry, dark and well-ventilated location.
Lines and tapes are to be hung up in soft bights. For transportation the equipment
shall be stored in specific bags and/or transport boxes or similar.
NOTE!
All of Cresto´s products have marking labels. The label shows the
manufacturer’s name, product name, model type, unique serial number, date of
manufacture, EN standard and Certification Institute number.
NOTE!
The product’s maximum lifecycle is 10 years from the date of first use (max
2 years’ addition from the first production date). Incorrect handling and wear-and-tear
can significantly shorten the lifecycle. The product shall be discarded if it has:
corrosion damage, several thread breakages, cut-off tape edges, discoloured tapes,
heavy wear-and-tear, corroded metal parts or if it lacks functionality and marking (ask
Cresto if unsure).
Warning!
If the product is exported, the retailer shall provide a translation of this
user’s instruction, maintenance and inspection instruction to the language where the
product is to be used.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE!
The equipment shall be stored in a dry, dark and well-ventilated location,
protected against steam, sharp edges, vibration and UV-light. The equipment shall
be kept clean for best functionality and durability. Metal parts can be blown clean with
compressed air. Avoid lubricating oil! Lightly soiled equipment can be washed with a
brush in lukewarm water. A mild soap solution can be used. Heavily soiled equipment
can be machine-washed in a wash-bag with phosphate-free detergent in a 40°
programme. Wet equipment is hung up to dry. Equipment shall be allowed to air-dry
without being subjected to open fire or any other heat source.
INSPECTION
Warning!
For the user’s safety the product shall be inspected at least every
twelfth month in order to ensure its functionality and durability (refer to EN 365). The
inspection can be registered in Inspector online at www.cresto.se
NOTE!
In cases of frequent usage of the equipment or in aggressive environments,
inspections shall be carried out at shorter intervals (as decided by a trained
competent person).
Warning!
The inspection shall be carried out by a competent person (a person who
has been trained and is competent in fall protection equipment inspection) who holds
a certificate for inspection and in accordance with the manufacturer’s inspection
procedure as well as EN 365.
NOTE!
The product’s label marking shall be legible! (The harness is also fitted with
a RFID/NFC chip for traceability if the label is not legible)
