Installing the
Modem Driver in
Windows XP
1. Turn on your computer to allow the operating
system to detect the modem.
2. When the
Found New Hardware Wizard
dialog box similar to Figure 3-28 appears,
insert the
Installation CD into your CD-ROM
drive.
3. Click the
Install from a list or specific
location (Advanced)
option, and then click the
Next
button.
4. When the dialog box similar to Figure 3-29
appears, click the
Browse
button to locate the
driver files in
E:\Drivers\WinXP
(where E:
represents your CD-ROM Drive), and then
click the
Next
button.

After you have set up your
modem, run a test to ensure that
your card has been installed
properly (see “Testing the
Installation in Windows XP” on
page 3-20).
