sTEP 51 — Chalk box:
Assembling the Chalk Box requires more care than other
parts of this play set.
be sure to drill small pilot holes for
screws to avoid splitting the wood.
The use of a hand
screw driver rather than a driver drill can help.
On a flat surface, fit together the Box Back (AT), Box Bottom
(Av) and two Box Sides (AW) as shown at right. Carefully
fasten the Box Sides to the Box Bottom using #6 x 1-1/8"
Screws. Make sure the holes in the middle of the Box Back
are oriented as shown before securing the Box Back to the
Box Sides using #8 x 1-5/8" Screws.
Position the Box Top (AX) as shown below. Make sure that
the "Chalk" label will face the right direction when the box is
closed. Align the Hinge so the lid can open fully upright and
will close properly. Fasten the Hinge to the Back and Top
using #6 x 1/2" Pan Had Screws.
sTEP 52 – Hand Grips to Entrance slats:
Fasten one Hand Grip (CX) to each Entrance Slat above the
Cargo Net using two 1/4 x 1" Hex Bolt Assemblies with Short
Weld Nuts for each.
