Su Doku
“Su Doku” puzzles ask you to fill numbers into a 9x9 grid divided
into nine smaller 3x3 grids.
At the beginning of the puzzle, some locations already contain
numbers. Your goal is to fill the empty spaces in such a way that
each number from 1 to 9 occurs once – and only once – in each
horizontal row, vertical column, and 3x3 grid.
Empty locations are denoted by hyphens (“-”). When you point to a
vacant location, the area below the grid looks something like this:
L
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
N
In this example, the nine numbers, 1 to 9, are available for insertion
into the grid. The line just above (marked by “L”) is where checks
(
) can be displayed to indicate “legal” numbers for a particular
location. The line below (marked by “N”) is the note pad. Please see
“Special Su Doku Features” on page 31 for more information.
The example below shows how a “block” may look at the beginning
and end of a puzzle.
- 5 - 1 5 3
8 - 2 8 4 2
- - 9 6 7 9
To insert a number, touch the square you want, then touch the
number in the row below the grid. Numbers inserted by the user
can be erased or overwritten. To erase a number, point to it then
touch
.
