3x3 grid. To use this feature, touch “L” as it is displayed above the
row of possible letters. Then whenever you point to a place where a
letter can be inserted, you will see the “legal” letters marked with
checks (
). To switch this feature off, touch “L” again.
Note pad:
You can make a note of a letter as a potential guess for
a particular location. Point to the location you want, then touch
the area directly below the desired letter in the row of possible
letters. This marks the letter with
. A location can have as many
candidates as you like; they will be displayed whenever you point to
it. You can delete a candidate by touching
.
Hint:
If you press
and HINT, a flashing
appears in the grid. This
suggests where you should insert the next letter. If you now press
and REVEAL LETTER, the letter is inserted for you.
Jotto
In “Jotto,” the user plays against the computer. Each player thinks
of a word, and tries to guess what letters are in the opponent’s
word. Before you start, select to play with 4, 5 or 6 letter words.
Suppose you select 4 LETTERS, and choose TREE as the word the
computer must guess.
Begin the game by making your own guess. Type a word of the
specified length by touching the letters at the bottom of the display.
(A letter may be erased by pressing

Suppose you type BLUE. The computer places this word in the left-
hand column of the screen and accompanies it with a number. This
tells you how many letters in BLUE occur in the computer’s mystery
word. The computer then displays its own guess:
