LEHR

CLEANING AND STORAGE

CLEANING

Use a small brush to clean the outside of the unit. Do

not use strong detergents. Household cleaners that

contain aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, and sol -

vents such as kerosene, can damage plastic housing or

handle. Wipe off any moisture with soft cloth.

STORAGE

• Remove p

ropane canister.

• Never sto

re the unit with attached propane canister where

fumes may reach an open flame or spark.

• Allow the engine to cool befo

re storing.

• Lock up the unit to p

revent unauthorized use or damage.

• Sto

re the unit in a dry, well-ventilated area.

• Sto

re unit out of reach of children.

LONG TERM STORAGE

1. Remove p

ropane canister.

2. Allow the engine to cool. Remove the spark plug and

put 5 drops of high quality motor oil into the cylinder.

Pull the starter r

ope slowly to distribute the oil. Rein

stall the spark plug.

NOTE: Remove the spark plug and drain all of the oil

from the cylinder before attempting to start the trimmer

after storage.

3. Change the oil, referring to

Changing the Oil (p.13)

Dispose of the old oil in accor

dance to Federal, State

and Local

regulations.

4. Tho

roughly clean the unit and inspect for any loose

or damaged parts. Repair or

replace damaged parts

and tighten loose scr

ews, nuts or bolts. The unit is

ready for storage.
