9. Install the Snap Caps into the H-Beams and the Hanger before
advancing to the next opening. Lay cardboard on the sheets to
avoid getting scratched. Use a block of wood to avoid marking or
denting the Snap Caps. Install Snap Caps into H-Beams first,
place Snap Cap as close as possible to Hanger then snap it in
working your way to the front of the roof. The Snap Cap will be
protruding slightly past the H-Beam, tap the end of the Snap Cap
until it is flush with the H-Beam.
Tip: Make sure when you start installing the Snap Cap that the lower leg engages the H-Beam
properly. Improper engagement occurs when
you push too hard against the lower leg, make
sure to push evenly.
10. Install a Snap Cap into the Hanger. Seal the inside corner and top of Hanger as shown by the
red lines below. Do not let the silicone touch the sheet.
11. Repeat steps 8 to 10 for each opening.
12. Install F Channels over the ends of the sheets, making sure they are
fully seated. The F Channel should not be flush with the H-Beam, push
or pull the sheets so it is inset 1/8” to 3/16”, this will allow the End Cap
to fit properly.
Important:
F Channels must fit snugly between the H-Beams so that
when the End Caps are installed they will prevent the F Channel (and
hence the sheets) from sliding out of the roof.
Important:
Make sure F Channels have 2 weep holes in the bottom leg, a few inches from
each end.
13. The outside of the first & last H-beam is filled with a Snap Cap and a length of 'F' Channel as
shown in the photo above. No gaskets are used.
