5. Make sure all H-Beams and Snap Caps have black gasket inserted. Be
sure that the gasket is fully inserted along the entire length of the bar
before trimming any excess. The gasket should move freely within the
gasket race.
Note that the Snap cap in the outside of the first
& last H-Beams does not require a gasket.
6. Make sure all sheets are properly sealed at both ends with vented
tape.
7. There are 3/8" gaps under the sheets at the front and back of the roof: between the sheet and
the hanger, and between the sheet and the top of the front wall (or beam if this is a patio
cover). Apply the supplied white foam strips to these areas, trim as necessary for a snug fit
between the H-Beams.
Tip: For patio covers the foam strip over the beam is not really necessary.
8. Insert the sheets working from one end to the other. Just before
inserting each sheet peel away the protective film a couple of
inches from all sides of the sheet so the Snap Caps will not trap
the film. Do not peel off the remaining protective film until the job
is done. This will keep the sheets clean. Slide sheets in from the
front, between the beams, they will not install from the top.
Important:
There is a special UV coating on the top side of the
sheet, indicated by the protective film with the writing. The
unmarked protective film faces down. Make sure the sheet is inserted correctly otherwise you
have voided the sheet warranty.
