12. Standard Mode
Two different Standard Count Modes can be selected and
used with the MC3 Elite, Average Mode and Decay Mode. The
gauge default is the Average Mode. In the Average Mode, the
percent change between the current standard count and the
average of the last four standard counts taken by the gauge is
displayed. The current standard count is used to calculate the
results of the Density and Moisture content.
The second mode is the Decay Mode. In this mode, the
elapsed time from the date of calibration is calculated and the
calibration density standard count is corrected for the Cs-137
decay. Cs-137 used in the gauge for density measurement
decays approximately 2.2% per year. The corrected calibration
standard count is compared to the daily standard count. The
Pass/Fail limit is set at ±1% of the decay corrected calibration
standard count. This calculation is done automatically by the
gauge and Pass/Fail limit is displayed. To ensure proper results in
this mode, the calibration date and calibration standard count
stored in the gauge has to be correct and current.
13. Serial Number
This function enters the serial number of the gauge to be
entered. This is set at the factory. Only authorized technicians
should use this function.
14. Date/Time
This function sets the date and time.
15. Buzzer/Alarm
This function enables or disables the Buzzer/Alarm. When this
function is enabled the gauge will beep when a key on the
keypad is pressed. Also, the gauge will sound an alarm after
completion of a test count.
