Generally, only certified cable entries and
blanking plugs may be used.

Flexible cables shall be used with
trumpet-shaped cable glands or other
suitable entries with additional pull-relief.

The directives for mounting applicable to
the cable entries fitted shall be observed.

When mounting cable entries of a lower IP
protection than that of the apparatus (see
page 8), the IP protection of the whole unit will
be reduced.

In order to establish the minimum protection
category, unused entry holes shall be closed
with a certified blanking plug.

Care has to be taken that when fitting the
cable entries, sealing inserts appropriate to
the cable diameter be used. In case of
sealing inserts that are cut out, it will have to
be ensured that the insert is properly
adapted to the cable diameter.

In order to ensure the required minimum
protection category, the cable entries will
have to be tightened down.

Overtightening might impair the
protection category.

Flange plates

Should flange plates have to be removed (e.
g. for drilling entry openings), attention will
have to be paid to the proper fit of the flange
plate  while mounting in order to maintain the
minimum protection category.

Metal flange plates shall be included in
the potential equalisation.

The switch toggle of the safety switches shall
be in ON position. When placing the cover
take care that the shaft of the switch engages
in the tappet hole of the switch toggle.

Any foreign matter shall be removed from
the apparatus.

To close the apparatus the enclosure cover
shall be closed using the internal square
spanner of the catch lock.

Prior to taking the apparatus into operation,
the tests specified in the relevant national
regulations are to be carried out. Apart from
that, the correct functioning and installation of
the apparatus in accordance with these
operating instructions and other applicable
regulations shall be checked.

The improper operation of safety
switches may result in the invalidation of
the guarantee.

Maintenance/Servicing

The relevant national regulations which
apply to the maintenance/servicing of
electrical apparatus, shall be observed.

Before opening the enclosure make sure
that the apparatus is disconnected from
the supply, or take the appropriate
protective measures.

The required maintenance intervals depend
on the respective application and shall
therefore be determined by the user
dependent on the conditions of use.
When servicing the apparatus, particularly
those parts that are decisive for the type of
protection against explosion, shall be
checked (e. g. intactness of the enclosure,
cable glands, efficacy of the gaskets).

The reliable working of the cover lock and
the integrity of the padlocking device
shall be especially checked.

If during servicing repairs prove to be neces-
sary, section 8 of these operating instructions
shall be observed.

Repairs may only be carried out with genuine
Cooper Crouse-Hinds / CEAG spare parts.

In case the switch base is damaged, only
its replacement will be permitted. In case
of doubt, the respective apparatus will
have to be returned for repair to Cooper
Crouse-Hinds / CEAG.

Modifications to the apparatus or changes of
its design are not permitted, except for the
mounting of additional cable entries in accor-
dance with the approval of the apparatus.

When the apparatus is disposed of, the
respective national regulations on waste
disposal shall be observed,
In order to facilitate the recycling of individual
components, plastic parts are provided with
the identification mark of the plastic material
used.

product range.

All screws and/or nuts of the supply
terminals, also of those remaining vacant,
shall be tightened down.

Attention:
The cable lugs should be crimped onto the
cable in a workmanlike manner.
