Engine Installation
2. Re-torque the exhaust flange nuts to the torque specifications in Appendix B of M-0,
Standard Practice Maintenance Manual after initial engine run-up, prior to first
flight.
3-2.5.1. Post Ground Run Up Inspection
1. Remove engine cowling and perform the following visual inspections:
a. Check hoses and fittings connections for oil and fuel leaks.
b. Inspect cylinder head, rocker cover, and oil sump gaskets for oil leaks.
c. Inspect oil sump for cracks.
d. Inspect cylinder head/exhaust gaskets for evidence of exhaust leaks.
e. Inspect oil return hoses and air inlet for evidence of chafing from oil cooling air
baffles. Ensure fuel lines and hoses do not rub against air inlet manifold.
f. Inspect induction air circuit connections for security.
g. Inspect hose and wiring harness clamps for security.
2. After at least 15 minutes cool down, check engine oil level. Maximum oil
consumption must not exceed limits in Section 2-4.
3. Correct discrepancies according to instructions in M-2, Maintenance and Overhaul
Manual.
4. Perform a “Flight Check and Break-In” according to instructions in Section 4-2.3.
