TO PLAY THE RADIO
1. Runs the unit by AC/DC as described in POWER SUPPLY.
2. Set the FUNCTION Switch to RADIO position.
3. Select required wave band (AM, FM or FM STEREO) with the BAND Switch.
4. Tune to required station by rotating the TUNING Control.
5. Extend the FM Telescopic antenna to its full length and rotate for best reception.
Note: FM Stereo is weaker than FM (mono). If your FM Stereo station is weak or you
hear too much noise or hissing, try to adjust the FM ANTENNA wire or rotate the
BAND switch from FM STEREO to FM.
6. The built-in AM antenna wire is directional, gently move the appliance back and forth to
improve the reception, or situate the unit in an open place.
7. Adjust the VOLUME Control to listening pleasure.
8. Press BASS BOOST button to enjoy more bass.
9. To turn off the radio, and switch to tape or CD playing, slide the FUNCTION Switch to
TAPE or CD position.
STEREO HEADPHONES/EARPHONES JACK
A Stereo Headphones/earphones Jack has been provided on the side of the main unit,so
that you can listen to the set without disturbing others. To use this jack, plug in low
impedance stereo headphones/earphones (not included) and adjust the VOLUME
Control for your listening pleasure. Special internal switches will turn off the set's
speakers when you plug in the stereo headphones/earphones.
To listen to built-in speakers, unplug the headphones/earphones.
CAUTION: Long time listening through headphones/earphones
at high volume may damage users’ ears.
CASSETTE OPERATION
IMPORTANT NOTES CONCERNING CASSETTE TAPES
After a period of time, especially when inexpensive brands of tapes are used, the sound
during playback may become "muffled" or, in extreme cases, almost inaudible.
This is most frequently NOT A FAULT OF THE SET ITSELF but merely a deposit of
oxide and other contaminating element on the tape heads. The easiest way to overcome
the problem is by using a head-cleaning cassette.
Follow the instructions provided with the cleaner carefully. The tape head is a delicate
precision component and serious damage will result if you attempt to scrape the
contamination away with a sharp implement.
Other common causes of trouble are:
(a) Tapes jamming - leading to uneven speed during playback.

CÓMO OPERAR LA RADIO
1.Encienda el aparato con AC/DC como se indica en FUENTES DE ENERGÍA.
2.Coloque el selector de FUNCIONES en la posición RADIO.
3.Seleccione la banda deseada (AM, FM o FM ESTÉREO) con el selector de BANDAS.
4.Sintonice la estación deseada girando el control de sintonización (tuning control).
5.Extienda la antena telescópica FM totalmente y rótela hasta alcanzar la mejor recepción.
6.El cable incorporado de la antena AM es direccional. Ligeramente mueva el aparato de
adelante hacia atrás y viceversa para mejorar la recepción, o coloque el aparato en un lugar
o espacio abierto.
7.Regule el control de VOLUMEN al nivel deseado.
8.Presione el botón de aumento de BAJOS (bass boost) para disfrutar de sonidos bajos.
9.Para apagar la radio y cambiar a cassette o CD, deslice el selector de FUNCIONES a la
posición de TAPE (cassette) o CD.
ENTRADA DE
AUDÍFONOS O AURICULARES ESTÉREO
El aparato cuenta con una entrada para audífonos / auriculares en el lado izquierdo superior
del aparato para poder escuchar sin perturbar a otros. Para utilizar esta entrada,
conecte los audífonos / auriculares estéreo de baja impedancia (no incluidos) y regule el
control de VOLUMEN al nivel deseado. Algunos dispositivos internos especiales desacti
-
varán los altavoces cuando se conecten los audífonos / auriculares.
Para escuchar por los altavoces incorporados, desconecte los audífonos / auriculares.
PRECAUCIÓN: El uso prolongado de los audífonos / auriculares a niveles altos de volumen
puede dañar los oídos.

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE SOBRE LAS CINT
AS DE CASSETTE
Después de cierto tiempo, especialmente si se usan cassettes de marcas de menor costo,
el sonido de la reproducción puede volverse opaco o velado, y en casos extremos ser casi
inaudible.
Esto NO indica un DESPERFECTO EN EL
AP
ARATO EN SÍ, sino más bien un depósito de
óxido y otros elementos contaminantes en el cabezal del cassette. La manera más fácil de
resolver este problema es utilizar un cassette limpia cabezales.
Siga cuidadosamente las instrucciones que vienen con el limpia cabezales. El cabezal del
cassette es un componente delicado de precisión que se puede dañar seriamente si se
trata de retirar la contaminación acumulada raspando con algún utensilio afilado o áspero.
Otras causas comunes de problemas son:
(a)Atasco de la cinta, lo cual lleva a que la velocidad sea dispareja durante la reproducción.
(b)Enredo de la cinta, cuando la cinta se envuelve y se enreda alrededor de partes impor-
tantes del mecanismo.
