5. Driver Software Initialization
Setting the device name is required to use the driver software. It is called the driver software
initialization.
The device name will be assigned automatically during hardware installation. Therefore, if you want
to use it, you can skip the setting procedure described below. To change the device name, follow the
setting procedure described below.
1. Setting the device name

Run Device Manager.
For Windows10, right-click on the Windows mark (start button) on the lower left side of the
screen, and then select the [Device Manager] from the displayed menu.
For other than Windows 10, From the [Control Panel], select the [Hardware and Sounds] or the
[System] and then select the [Device Manager].

The installed hardware appears under the CONTEC Devices node.
Open the CONTEC Devices node and select the device you want to setup.
Click the [Properties].
