10. Basics of the FS20 address system
The FS20 radio switching system works with a house code. This allows your
neighbour to use the same radio switching system at the same time without both
systems interfering with each other (this requires different house codes).
In one house code, you can set 256 different addresses. These addresses are
divided into 4 address types (available number in brackets):
• Single address (225)
• Function group addresses (15)
• Local master addresses (15)
• Global master addresses (1)
Each receiver can be allocated an address of each address type. This way, the
receiver can react to up to 4 different addresses, but only to one address per
address type at a a time. If a receiver is supposed to react to several transmitters,
you can program the transmitters to the same address or with differently set
transmitter address types program the receiver to these different addresses in
sequence.
The individual address types have the following functions:
• Individual addresses
Each receiver is supposed to be set to one single address to control it
separately.
• Function group addresses
Several receivers are defined as a function unit by assignment to a function
group address. If for example all lamps in the house are allocated to a function
group, these lamps can all be dimmed up or down with one single press of a key.
• Local master addresses
Several addresses are defined spatially as a unit and controlled via the local
master address. For example, if all receivers in the room are each allocated to
a local master address, you can turn off all consumers in the room with a single
press of a key when leaving the room.
• Global master address
Several receivers are allocated to the global master address and controlled
jointly via this address. When leaving the house, you can then turn off all
consumers with one single press of a key.
