c) Operation
• The following instructions are essential for proper installation, assembly, mounting
and operation. Please keep these instructions for future reference! Always refer
to the technical data of the product. Subject to technical alterations. Please read
the following (safety) instructions carefully!
d) Safety instructions
•
Installation and repair work may only be performed by a qualified electrician in
accordance with local safety regulations.
• Be extremely cautious when connecting the luminaire to the power supply to
avoid electric shock.
•
If you are not confident carrying out the installation or assembly yourself, or
if there is no access to the mains at the desired installation point, a qualified
electrician must assist you.
• Before starting work, switch off/disconnect the mains (200-240 V). Always turn off
the power at the fuse box.
•
Before drilling the fitting holes, pay attention to the location of the mains cable to
avoid damaging it.
•
The power pack must be fitted separately.
•
When fitting power packs, ensure that there is adequate ventilation. Exposure
to excessive ambient temperatures could reduce the life of the unit and result in
outages. The power pack’s maximum admissible ambient temperature (Ta) must
not be exceeded.
•
Pay attention to the voltage figure shown on the power pack.
• Thermal insulation must not come into contact with the luminaire/operating
device. Ensure that the device is well ventilated. Danger of overheating!
•
Only install and operate in dry rooms.
• The light source of this luminaire cannot be replaced. When the light source has
reached the end of its service life, the entire luminaire must be replaced.
• If the power cable is damaged, the product is unusable.
e) Assembly/installation instructions
• Caution! The lighting system must remain disconnected from the mains during
installation.
• Plug connections must not be connected, disconnected or changed during
operation or when live. This can damage or destroy the LED.
•
Only lighting systems intended for extension may be extended with additional
luminaires.
• The electric power of the LED luminaires must lie within the power range of the
LED ballast. Refer to the information on the rating plate on the luminaire and the
ballast.
• We are not liable for damage caused by improper use, handling, installation,
modification or alteration, nor is it covered by the guarantee/warranty.
• Please choose a larger capacity driver (rated load power: max. 48 W) once you
confirm the total power of the system to be created is between 36 W and 48 W.
However, to avoid failure or hazards, make sure that the total power of the system
to be created does not exceed 48 W!
f) Power adapter
Do not modify or repair mains supply components including mains
plugs, mains cables, and power supplies. Do not use damaged
components. Risk of death by electric shock!
• Connect the appliance to a wall socket that can be accessed easily.
• As power supply, only use the supplied mains adaptor.
•
Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public
supply. Before plugging in the power adaptor, check whether the voltage stated
on the power adaptor complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adaptors if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the power adaptor from the mains socket by pulling on the cable;
always use the grips on the plug.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during
storms.
• Do not touch the power adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may
cause a fatal electric shock! Take the following steps:
- Switch off the mains voltage to the socket containing the power adapter
(switch off the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and
then switch off the corresponding RCD protective switch).
- Unplug the power adapter from the mains socket.
- Use a new power adapter of the same design. Do not use the damaged ad-
apter again.
• Ensure that cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
This poses a risk of injury.
