h) Switching on the Speed Controller
First switch on the transmitter, see chapter 8. d), e) and f).
Place the vehicle on a suitable support as described in chapter 8. g) to ensure the wheels can turn freely.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels
Put the trimming for steering and driving functions at the transmitter into its centre position.
Leave the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter in its neutral position and do not move it.
Now switch on the speed controller (see chapter 8. g).
The green LED at the speed controller should now flash 4 times, and the engine should emit 4 beeps. Then the drive
may start up. Set the trimming for trottle/brake at the transmitter so that the engine stops and the LEDs at the speed
controller go out (neutral position).
The beep tone is generated because the brushless motor is activated for a moment. Depending on the
motor, this beep may be very low or inaudible. In this case, observe the LED on the speed controller.
The number of flashes of the green LED at the speed controller or the beeps of the engine when the speed
controller is switched on show the number of LiPo cells recognised. The correct number for the vehicle are
4 flashes or 4 beeps.
When two 6-cell NiMH driving batteries are connected, the speed controller also has to show 4 flashes or
the engine give 4 beeps after it is switched on.
If there are fewer than 4 flashes or 4 beeps, the connected driving batteries were not recognised properly
(the driving batteries may also not be fully charged or discharged).
In this case, observe chapter 10. b) and programme speed controller function #12 for 4 LiPo cells (change
basic setting “Auto” into “4 Cells”). Proceed correspondingly with NiMH rechargeable batteries.
At first start-up, you should programme at least the neutral and full throttle positions for forwards and reverse driving at
the speed controller; see chapter 10. a).
Then check the drive and steering functions of the vehicle; also see chapter 8. j).
If the steering works opposed to the movement at the rotation knob at the transmitter (turn to the left at the
transmitter makes the wheels go to the right), activate the steering reverse function.
The vehicle should drive forwards if you pull the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter towards the handle
If this is not the case, either reverse the motor’s rotational direction (see chapter 10. b), function #11) or
activate the motor reverse function.
i) Attaching and Fastening the Vehicle Body
Push the aerial tube from the bottom of the body through the designated opening.
Now put the vehicle body on the holders and fasten it using the safety clips previously removed.
Your car is now ready for its first test run!
