MOUNTING THE BYPASS VALVE (JQU)
When assembling a bypass valve between the built-in rotary flange and the water softener, a continuous
supply of untreated drinking water is also possible during any maintenance work on the water softener.
/ Firstly flush the pipe with the newly installed built-in rotary flange. The built-in rotary flange is still
closed by the black assembly cover.
/ Then shut off the water again (at the main water tap or shut-off valve) and remove the assembly cover
of the built-in rotary flange.
/ Connect the bypass valve to the built-in rotary flange by engaging the bayonet fitting (see fig. 4). Ob-
serve the flow direction arrow on the built-in rotary flange! The handwheel of the bypass valve must
be positioned to the side that is opposite to the water supply.
/ Tightly fasten the four cylinder screws M6×25.
/ Screw the reducer unions (1¼" to 1") onto the two nozzles of the bypass valve JQU.

Select the torque (approx. 4 Nm) so that the gasket closes!
The pipe must be able to safely support the weight of the bypass valve and the con-
necting hoses. If necessary, the pipe must be additionally fixed or supported.
