OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before the fi rst use
Prior to using a new unit, wipe the surface and the inside with a wet cloth for hygienic reasons. Wash all the remov-
able parts in warm water with a detergent, or in a dishwasher.
Then, heat the unit without food at maximum temperature for 20 minutes (see the Operating Instructions below).
It‘s possible that the unit will emit a slight smell and smoke, which should disappear after a while. Air the room well
during this process.
Tips for using
Do not use cooking utensils with a concave bottom (Fig. 1) or a smaller diameter of the bottom than recommended.
The cooking performance would be impaired.
WARNING!
When using smaller than recommended utensils the fl ame could touch the sides and the plastic handles could melt!
Avoid lighting a burner when the utensil is empty. An empty utensil will heat very quickly and the bottom may be
deformed. Should this unintentionally occur, do not touch the utensil; turn off the burner and allow it to cool.
Burner ignition
1. Press and turn the burner control knob to the position . The gas feed will be open to maximum.
2. Keep the knob pressed in position , piezo-electric ignitor will generate spark and ignite the gas. Keep the knob
pressed for about 15 seconds to warm up the thermocouple. Then release the knob.
Note:
Never press the burner control knob for longer than 15 seconds. If the fl ame does not come within 15
seconds, release the knob, move it to position (off ), wait for 1 minute and repeat the attempt.
3. Adjust the required heat output with fl ame on turning the control knob to the left. The symbol marks minimum
heat output.
Burner fl ame extinguishing
a) Manual
By turning the knob of the respective burner to position (off ) you can close the gas feed and the fl ame will go off .
b) Automatic (safety)
In the event the fl ame goes off , e.g. due to draught or boiling over, the thermoelectric cell will close the gas feed
automatically to prevent uncontrolled leakage.
Thermocouple protection preventing gas outfl ow if the burner is extinguished
This is a thermoelectric cell located near the burner that controls the fl ame on the basis of emitted heat, and in the
event of accidental blowing out of the fl ame it will close the gas feed for the burner.
