In this example, A means –ALLOW and N corresponds to -DENY.
Option Description
-DENY

Use this option with Single User mode, with the -S or
NOPASSWORD option, to define the IP addresses that are
not allowed access to the client agents.
For example:
-DENY N:172.16.0.0(255.255.255.0) H:172.31.255.255
In this example, N denotes a network address and H denotes a host’s IP
address. You can set an optional subnet mask.
Option Description
-l
Causes the client agent to check for advisory locks. The
default is mandatory locks only.
-m
maxbuf
Sets the number of buffers allocated for I/O. Options are
2 to 1024 buffers; the default is 128.
-NOPASSWORD
Specify this option if you need to use either the -ALLOW,
-DENY, or -CAUSER options. This option is the same as
the -S option in Single User mode with no password
required.
-P
n
Specifies the default time out, followed by a variable
number (
n
), which is user-defined and measured in
minutes (0 to 10). The default is 5 minutes.
