Windows Client Agents Configuration
Use the Backup Agent Admin to Set Windows Parameters
To configure the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Client Agent for Windows in the
network, follow these steps:
1. Open the Backup Agent Admin. To open the Backup Agent Admin from the
Windows Programs menu (All Programs menu on XP machines), select
Computer Associates, BrightStor, ARCserve Backup Agents, Backup Agent
Admin.
Note: The window contents may differ slightly for each client agent,
depending on the specific operating system in use.
2. From the Options menu, select Configuration.
3. Define the security option.
4. Define the Backup Priority and Restore/Compare Priority option.
5. Define the multiple simultaneous restore or compare jobs option. Enable
this if you want the Windows client agent to accept multiple concurrent
restore or compare jobs.
Note: By default, this option is disabled to ensure that new backup or
restore jobs of the same data set are not accidentally launched during a
running restore job. If this does occur, the agent denies the new job’s
request and reports that the client agent is busy to the BrightStor
ARCserve Backup server.
