   Audio Subsystem Functional Block Diagram

The functionality of the iPAQ 1.x and iPAQ 2.0 audio systems is basically the same. The method
of muting the internal speaker with insertion of a Line In or Headphone plug differs between the
two codec types (mechanical (AD1881) versus logic (AD1885)) and the iPAQ 2.0 features an 8-
watt speaker amplifier versus the 5-watt amplifier of the iPAQ 1.x.
