REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT

Perform preparation procedures

Remove the hood

Remove the fax/modem
4
Open the system board bracket

Locate the AMD K6 processor
6
Remove the clip from the
heat sink
7
Lift up the ZIF socket handle
and lift the heat sink and
processor out of the socket
To reinstall the AMD K6 processor,
rub a thermal transfer crayon on
the bottom of the heatsink, then
reverse the steps above. (The
thermal transfer crayon replaces
the thermal pad used with earlier
K6 processors.)
