BURNER FLAME PATTERN
Figure 33 shows a correct burner lame pat
-
tern. Figure 34 shows an incorrect burner
lame pattern. The incorrect burner lame
pattern shows sporadic, irregular lame tip
-
ping. The lame should not be dark or have
an orange/reddish tinge.
Note: When using ireplace for the irst time,
lame will be orange for approximately 1 hour
until log cures.

Check pilot lame pattern and burner lame
pattern often.
PILOT FLAME PATTERN
Figure 31 shows a correct pilot lame pattern.
Figure 32 shows an incorrect pilot lame pat
-
tern. The incorrect pilot lame is not properly
heating the thermocouple. This will cause
thermocouple to cool. When thermocouple
cools, the ireplace will shut down.
If pilot lame pattern is incorrect, as shown

Note: The pilot lame on natural gas units will
have a slight curve, but lame should be blue
and have no yellow or orange color.
