Care and decalcifying
ATTENTION!

The heating plate is very hot after use! First allow it to cool off before you clean it.
❐
Never submerge the device, the mains cord or the plug in water.
❐
When cleaning, do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners. They could damage the surface.
1. Clean the coffee grinder using the cleaning brush.
2. Move the screw on the opening for cleaning the coffee grinder
to the “Open” symbol using the pole end of the cleaning
brush.The cover will open and you can remove any leftover
coffee powder with the cleaning brush.
3. Once you are done, close the cover by pushing it and moving the screw on the opening for
cleaning the coffee grinder to the “Closed” symbol using the pole end of the cleaning
brush.
4. Then push the release button for the
fi
lter compartment.
5. Remove the permanent
fi
lter or the paper
fi
lter and dispose of the coffee powder.
6. Clean the
fi
lter compartment insert and the permanent
fi
lter with warm water and a small
amount of detergent if necessary.
7. Then dry the
fi
lter compartment insert and the permanent
fi
lter thoroughly and place it
back in the coffee maker.
8. If necessary, wipe off the coffee maker and heating plate with a damp cloth and a dry cloth.
Decalcifying
You should decalcify the device if the water is circulating very slowly or the device is emitting
more noise than usual during the brewing process.
1. Fill the water tank with a mixture of water and decalci
fi
er and turn the device on. Consult
the operating instructions for the decalci
fi
er to determine the correct ratio of water to
decalci
fi
er.
2. Let the mixture completely circulate through the device. Repeat the process if the water still
circulates slowly.
3. After you have
fi
nished decalcifying the device, allow water to circulate through the device
at least three times (without coffee) in order to rinse the lines etc.
4. Make sure that you have activated the
Mahlen Aus
(Grinding off) function when you rinse
the device out with water or decalcify it.
