Forward/Reverse Shifter Cable Installation, Continued:

5. Install the ball joint socket (2) on the Forward/Reverse shifter assembly ball stud (3)

6. Install wire tie (8) to secure wire harness to cable at the support bracket near the Forward/Reverse shifter

assembly.

• If wires are removed or replaced, make sure wiring and wire harness are properly routed and

secured. Failure to properly route and secure wiring could result in vehicle malfunction,
property damage, personal injury, or death.

7. Connect battery cables, positive (+) cable first, and tighten hardware to 12 ft-lb (16 N·m).
