If you would like to print another label for your last sample you can by pressing the [YES]
button. Note that pressing the [YES] button will only print one label if you want more just press
[YES] again until you have the desired amount of labels. The [
FEED
] key is available if label
alignment should be necessary. Press [
NO
] to return to the main screen.
2.6.6 Handling a printer error condition
It may occur that the printer detects an error condition while printing a label. In most cases
the printer will skip the spoiled label and attempt to print it again. In the rare situations where the
printer status is unclear, printing will stop and the following screen will appear, where nnn is
some 3-digit numeral:
The error code, when expressed as an 8-bit binary number, can be used with the table below
to figure out what the specific problem is. When all is well, the error code has a value of 160 =
10100000. When paper is out, its value is 164 = 10100100 since bit 2 goes high, according to the
table. If there is a black mark detection error, bit 6 goes high for a code value of 224 =
11100000. Paper out and black mark detection error (sometimes both = 228) are the most likely
error codes to encounter, and the fix is to either add label paper if it’s out, or move the labels by
pressing [TOF] (or manually by tugging on them if side to side alignment is off). This moves the
black mark away from the paper sensor in the printer. The [CONT] key must then be pressed to
resume normal operation with the printer. The firmware will check the printer status, and based
on the error code received, either resume normal operation in the end of sample screen where it
left off, or display the unacceptable error code in the screen above.
If printer errors are persistent, or if it is very difficult to load labels, the most likely cause is a
stray label that has gotten stuck in the printer. This condition should be referred to a CLiMET
Instruments authorized service center.
