Purified Water Line
:
Run 3/8'' tubing from the STORAGE connection on the
SteamerGard™
unit to one side
of the brass tee on the storage tank. Run up to 25 feet of 3/8'' tubing (1/2" tubing if longer than 25 feet) from the
other side of the brass tee to the
SteamerGard™
connection on the control panel, mounted near the steamer.
7.
Purified Water Line to the Steamer
:
Run 3/8'' polybutylene tubing from the center connection on the control
panel to the
steam generator (boiler)
connection on the steamer,
(not the condenser water connection).
For correct
connection of this line, consult the steamer manufacturer.
IMPORTANT
: When feeding the steamer with purified water from the
SteamerGard™
system, it is
imperative
that the steamer be fitted with two separate water connections; one for purified water to the steam
generator and a separate one for tap water to the condenser system. If the
SteamerGard™
system is feeding
purified water to a steamer that is equipped with only one feed water connection, which internally branches
off to both the steam generator (boiler) and the condenser system, the steamer absolutely
must
be altered for
use with the
SteamerGard™
system. Consult the steamer manufacturer for alteration instructions to convert
the steamer from a single teed water connection to two separate water connections; one for purified water to
the steam generator and a separate one for tap water to the condenser system.

Start-up procedures
:
Open the cold water valve at the main water source, then open the feed water valve on
the
SteamerGard™
unit. Inspect the feed water plumbing for leaks, and correct as necessary. Ensure that the
valve on the storage tank is open and the valve handle on the wall monitor is turned to
SteamerGard™
check all
plumbing for leaks and correct as necessary. Energize the steamer generator fill cycle, this will purge any trapped
air in the plumbing, and drain boiler at completion of fill cycle.
NOTE:
The steamer must be operated for some time in order to clear the tap water out of the
SteamerGard™
system. Pushing the WATER QUALITY button on the wall monitor before all tap water is
cleared from the system will result in a glowing red light.
The SteamerGard™ system is now in operation, and
the steamer can be used with purified water.
