4. Installation
Assembly
1. Refit the hood to the appliance and secure with the hood screws at top and
bottom of the Hydroboil.
2. Slide the cover back over the boiling water outlet tube and secure it with the
counter nut.
3. Before installing the tap, ensure enough P.T.F.E thread tape is applied to the thread
of the tube.
4. Screw the tap assembly clockwise onto the boiling water outlet tube until it
touches the counter nut. Continue to turn the tap until the handle is fully vertical.
Tighten the counter nut against the tap with spanner provided.
Commissioning
Do not turn on the power supply yet!
1. Check the grounding of the hood with an Ohmmeter. The electrical resistance
between protective conductor and housing must not exceed 1 Ohm.
2. Open the water supply to the appliance and wait approx. five minutes until you
can get water from the tap.
3. Only then turn on the power supply / plug in the plug.
4. The heating indicator lights on as long as the appliance heats up and swiches off
as soon as the water boils. The Hydroboil will automatically turn the heater back
on if the temperature falls below a defined set point, so the water is always kept
ready just near the boiling point.
5. Operation
Zip Hydroboil is fitted with a twoway tap for instant tapping of boiling water.
Cup filling
• For small quantities of instant boiling water, gently pull the lever of the tap forward.
Boiling water will flow until the tap handle is released.
Pot filling
• To fill lager vessels like tea cans and pots push the lever back and down, until it
locks into a horizontal position. Boiling water will flow until the tap is returned to its
normal vertical position.
Note: Water, steam and metal parts of the tap are very hot!
