4. Installation
Mounting the appliance
• Position the base of the tap nozzle to be not less than 280 mm (nominally 360 mm)
above the draining board (height should be increased only if essential for filling
larger vessels).
• Provide clearance for service access of not less than 150 mm top, 65 mm left, 20 mm
right.
1. Position the Hydroboil so the spout will drain onto a draining board, drip tray or a
sink.
2. Mark the edges of the Hydroboil at the Wall and position the drilling template
according to these markings.
3. Drill the marked holes (
Ø
= 10 mm).
4. Remove the counter nut and cover from boiling water outlet.
5. Unscrew the hood screws on top and bottom of the appliance and remove the
hood.
6. Fix the Hydroboil chassis to the wall with the supplied screws and dowels.
Note: The appliance is heavy. Wear suitable non-slip safety gloves during instal-
lation.
Water connection
The Hydroboil is an open vented water heater, and as such it is essential to pro-
vide an air gap in the steam outlet line, as shown in the picture.
Thoroughly rinse the water supply line to remove debris and dirt.
1. Connect the cold water supply directly to the ½ inch thread of the cold water inlet.
2. Connect the steam outlet line to the ½ inch thread on the steam outlet. Make
sure that the steam line ends in an open air gap. The end of the drain line can be
positioned, for example, over a sink or over a KAS drain funnel.
3. Briefly open the water supply and check all connections for leaks.
4. Close the water supply to prevent the water from flowing out of the boiling water
outlet.
Note: The steam outlet line must be routed in a 15 mm diameter pipe. This must
have a permanent slope, must not be longer than 3 m, have no more than three
right-angled bends and have no direct connection to a drainpipe (air gap).
The leaking water of the steam line can be very hot.
