Essential Configuration – Quick Reference
This section is a quick reference list of the essential configuration steps that must
be performed during the execution of the Setup Wizard and/or after the Setup
Wizard has been run to ensure proper functionality of the units. For a full
description of the features described below refer to the
System Administrator’s
Guide
.
1. Enable or disable individual ports (disable ports that are not in use).
Path:
Remote->Configuration->Port->Port_1 (and Port_2)
2. Set the user IDs for each port to “map” remote users with specific PBX ports.
Path:
Remote->Configuration->Port->Port_1 (and Por_2) ->User ID
3. Set the IP Destination address that the Remote will use to connect to the
PBXgateway. This is simply the address of the PBXgateway.
Path:
Remote->Configuration->Connect
4. Set the IP parameters to allow the Remote to communicate over the IP
network.
Path:
Remote->Configuration->IP->LAN->Address
5. Allow Tenet and FTP access for administrative and upgrade purposes.
Path:
Remote->Configuration->IP->LAN
FTP should always be disabled when not performing an upgrade or file transfer
to and from the unit.
6. Enable the Analog Port on the Remote (if equipped), enable or disable the
ringing, assign a Dial Key, assign a Dial Prefix and/or and Emergency
Number. See the
System Administrator’s Guide
for full details.
