Configuring Cisco Multimode G.SHDSL EFM/ATM in Cisco ISR G2

Procedure 2

Step 1

Download the new firmware from the Cisco.com Software Center at:

http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?i=!y&mdfid=284367038&softwareid=284942912&re
lease=1.7.5.0_11175002&os=UnixOrLinux

.

Step 2

Copy the firmware to the router’s flash memory and specify the destination filename as
shdsl_ea_IDC_DFE.pkg.

Step 3

Update to the new firmware using one of the following methods:

•

Execute the following command:

Router(config-controller)#

firmware phy update

Proceed phy firmware update with shdsl_ea_IDC_DFE.pkg? [yes/no]:

When you are prompted to confirm whether to proceed with the firmware update, enter yes to
proceed.

•

Save and reload the router to pick up the new firmware.

Note

If shdsl_ea_IDC_DFE_.pkg is present in the router’s flash memory, and the CLI filename is not set for
the controller, the shdsl_ea controller PHY firmware will be loaded from shdsl_ea_IDC_DFE.pkg.

Determining the Firmware Version

In order to determine the version of the firmware that is currently running, execute the following
command and review the PHY source, PHY firmware files, the Integrated Device Control (IDC)
firmware version, and the DFE firmware version in the output:

show controllers SHDSL <slot>/<sub slot>/<port>
