Usage Guidelines
The command is case sensitive. With no arguments, the
show inventory
command produces a compact
display of all identifiable entities that have a product identifier. The compact display shows the entity
location (slot identity), entity description, and the unique device identifier (UDI), including PID, Version
Identifier (VID), and Serial Number (SN) of that entity.
If there is no PID, no output appears when you enter the
show inventory
command.
For the product identifier (PID) and version identifier (VID) of SFP modules, the output of the
show
inventory
user EXEC command displays either the correct information or displays
Unspecified
for the
PID and nothing for the VID if the SFP module does not have PID and VID information.
