Aspect Ratio
The aspect ratio is the ratio of image width to image height.
Most DVDs are 16:9 while standard definition TV is 4:3.
Select the proper aspect ratio to suit the format of the video signal.
Choice: Normal, Full Screen, Anamorphic, Virtual Wide
Normal:
Produce the image according to
the input signal without any
scaling with the image
displayed at the center of the
screen.
Anamorphic:
Scale the image so that it is
displayed in a 16:9 aspect
ratio.
Full Screen:
Enlarges the image so that
it is displayed in full-screen
format with 16:9 aspect ratio.
The upper and lower portions of
the image will be cropped.
Virtual Wide:
A 4:3 aspect ratio image is
enlarged non-linearly in
horizontal direction to
accommodate a 16:9 full
screen display. This
stretches the right and left
sides of the image; yet the
central part remains
unchanged.
