PP / PPP : The P rincipal P lan technique also consists in measuring the sky radiance in
the aerosol channels. Unlike the almucantar, a constant azimuthal angle is kept with
varying polar angle to make measurements.
In the PP scenario, polar angles vary from -6° to +150° using:
•
AUREOLE gain between -6° to -2°
•
SUN gain on the sun
•
AUREOLE gain between 2° to 6° *
•
AUREOLE and SKY gain for 6° *
•
SKY gain above 6°
•
The last data is the sensor head temperature.
* The Photometer performs two measurements at 6°, one with AUREOLE gain and
one with SKY gain.
In the P rincipal P lane P olarized scenario, polar angles vary from -85° to +175° using
SKY gain only.
