16. SETTING SENSITIVITY: CROSSING SPEED
Before closing the front cover and after having performed alignment, calibrate system
sensitivity.
Set the control trimmer according to the desired sensitivity, considering the data contained in
the table below. The values indicated are purely indicative and require a check of the actual
alarm condition, generated with the practical crossing tests. High sensitivity causes less system
immunity to disturbances, while reduced sensitivity (250 mS, trimmer fully rotated in the
counter-clockwise direction) allows for increased immunity. In the case of perimeter protection
of vehicle parking areas or the detection of crossings of large objects, suitably adjust sensitivity
without reaching extreme limits of maximum sensitivity. During installation, avoid exposing the
receiving module directed toward direct sunlight.
Trimmer Setting
Detected crossing speed
50mS
Fast running
6.9 mt/Sec
80mS
Fast walking 1.2 mt/Sec
140mS
Normal walking 0.7 mt/Sec
250mS
Slow walking 0.4 mt/Sec
17. PRACTICAL TEST
Once you have completed the preparation of channels, alignment, and sensitivity adjustment,
proceed with the practical barrier crossing test to check the effectiveness of the system
according to your installation requirements. Verify correct detection of alarm conditions and, as
a result, correct operation.
