1.6.4 Installation of the memory modules
Increasing the amount of system memory is the most common "on-site" enhancement that is likely to be made to your CIARA Astro
PB60S micro PC
. Increasing your computer’s memory usually involves adding main memory. DDR 4 Synchronous Dynamic Random
Access Memory (DDR4 SDRAM) is packaged only in 260-pin Small Outline Dual In-line Memory Modules (SO-DIMMs).
Your CIARA Astro PB60S uses only SO-DIMM memory modules. Each SO-DIMM module can have a capacity of 8 GB or 16 GB. The
minimum system capacity is 8 GB and the maximum system capacity is 32 GB. Your system supports only DDR4 2666 MHz memory
speeds. Furthermore, the memory has to be of the SPD type (Serial Presence Detect) to insure optimal operation. Only non-ECC
memory is supported. DDR4 2666 MHz and higher memory modules will run at max. 2666 MHz on Intel
® 8
th
Gen. 6-core or higher
processors.

If you are planning to increase your computer’s memory please contact us to ensure that you select the memory that meets our
specifications, otherwise errors could result.
Install a SO-DIMM in the socket (SODIMM_A1) as shown below.
If additional memory is to be used, install another SO-DIMM in the socket (SODIMM_B1) as shown above.
You may install 8 GB or 16 GB unbuffered non-ECC DDR4 DIMMs into the SO-DIMM sockets.
Minimum memory configuration for the system is 8 GB. The maximum memory configuration is 32 GB.
Install a DIMM module into a memory socket on the system main board, as follows :
First, make sure the power is turned Off and the power cord is unplugged. Remove the case cover, then remove the heatsink and
fan assembly.
Align the module so that the pin 1 marking on the module corresponds to the SO-DIMM socket pin 1 marking. The module can only
fit in the socket in one way; you cannot insert the SO-DIMM incorrectly.
Slide the module into the socket.
By gently pressing down on the bar, you will clearly hear the sound of the safety clip as it closes to hold your new memory bar in
place.
