Should you decide on securing the jack, make sure the panel is at
least 1/8” thick for the threads on the jack to protrude and engage the nut.
(If necessary use a dremel to grind or thin the panel) Drilling a hole to
secure the jack is not necessary but doing so makes for a stock look and
easier to plug/unplug audio device.
